Collaboration for the Mexican market

Pessl Instruments, Agrotechnologia and Fagro Enter Into Joint Venture in the Mexican Market

It is our pleasure to announce that Pessl Instruments Agrotechnologia and Fagro are entering a joint venture named METOS Fagro to expand business in Mexico and the Americas with Fagro owning 49 %, Pessl Instruments owning 35 % and Agrotechnologie de America owning 16 % equity.

Strategic Point

Mexico is an important export point for both USA and Europe. “With the country being the largest producer of avocado in the world and its rapid value growth of berry crops over the last decade, the decision to expand business through joint venture was a logical step forward,” explains Gottfried Pessl, the founder and CEO of Pessl Instruments.

Pessl Instruments, as a leader in developing agricultural decision support systems and IoT solutions, has been involved in the Mexican market for the last 20 years. Enrique Audiffred, the Managing Director of Agrotecnologia de America and a farmer himself: “Agriculture in the region has encountered significant changes in the last decade. We see rapid growth and increasing importance of technology, but there is much hidden potential to discover, and we aim to do that together.”

Main Objective

The main objective of the joint venture will be to enhance presence in the region by helping farmers adopt the latest agricultural technologies in a holistic way, with seamless integration and support. “All three companies share the same values – we want to produce healthy food, optimize the use of valuable resources and make the world a better place at the same time. We believe that joint venture will make this possible,” Francisco Mendoza explains.
