The Future of Farming

Innovation and Agroecology: A Path to Sustainability

Agriculture is calling for innovation.

Innovations have advanced the agroecological outcomes of more efficient resource use, input optimization and soil health and this is just the beginning.

We are proud that a member of our team, Luciano Loman, General Manager of METOS Brasil and Nuffield Scholar, has been invited to speak at The Future of Farming conference in Rome. He will explain our work in Brasil and other countries, with emphasis on the importance of high-resolution weather information as a backbone for resilience, work management and climate risk management, as well as risk mitigation with the help of IoT and information accessible online.

Policy makers, bankers, large food companies and farmers will participate in the discussion on how farming will be done in the next decade with the digital transformation in place and IoT becoming a part of our daily lives and how new solutions will design sustainable farming systems that strengthen the interactions between plants, animals, humans and the environment for food security and nutritionn.
